1. Schedule Flexibility--Drivers are not scheduled or placed on a schedule. Drivers aren't ever "on call." Drivers are able to share windows of availability, but there's no guarantee we'll have any opportunities to transport during those windows. We do what we can to keep individual drivers as busy as possible, but patterns may fluctuate. One week might offer multiple opportunities for locals or longer runs, but the next week might be quieter. Drivers willing and available for late day drives are always in demand.
2. An open mind for a variety of opportunities--H&H is able to offer help in a lot of capacities. Not only do we drive cars between dealerships and customers, but we also help with parts deliveries, customer shuttles, vehicle portering, commercial trucks, and administrative paperwork. If you're willing to try the various runs, you're far more likely to stay busier.
3. A home base close to the dealerships--It's far more convenient for drivers to accept opportunities when their commute is minimal. It's not that drivers living 30 miles away won't get a call, but the frequency may be compromised due to the length of time necessary to get to the customer.
4. An uncanny amount of patience--Whether it's waiting for the phone to ring, the customer to get ready, the conditions of the roads, or the pace of the delivery contact, the variables dictating our service are unpredictable and can become taxing. The happiest drivers are the ones who understand this and go with the flow. Sometimes interested individuals fail to take this into account and decide that this isn't a great fit after only a couple of weeks.
5. A desire to meet new people, see new places, and learn new things--H&H Drivers can spend HOURS in a car together. They bring unique perspectives, experiences, and beliefs, and a good conversation may result. There are plenty of solo runs to be sure, but rarely does one experience the same day twice. If the individual likes variety and appreciates fresh opportunities, this can be a lot of fun.
6. A little financial flexibility--We run on a Net 30 Billing Cycle, so there's a gap between services rendered and the pay drivers receive. We invoice customers throughout the month, issuing a statement for the monthly totals at the beginning of the next month. Customers have 30 days to pay, and when we're paid, we can pay our drivers. Generally, that means March drives are paid in April, and we pay the drivers for March drives during the last week of April or the 1st week of May, depending on whether the driver elects direct deposit or paper check. We want to be up front with this because we don't know your circumstances, and there are times when interested individuals really need more secure and more frequent payments.
